Trendsetter is a fanzine dedicated to the characters Arima Yukinari and Kanuma Minoru from Nii Satoru's Windbreaker. The zine will be centered around the two as individuals, as a duo, and their relationships/dynamics with the people around themThe zine is officially set to release on January 2026 as a free-to-download PDF along with digital merch.

GUIDELINES

GENERAL APPLICATION GUIDELINES
- You must be 18+ years of age to participate in this zine
- You are free to apply for two roles, but be aware that there's a varied chance you'll be accepted for both
- The zine itself is strictly PG-13, but you are allowed to submit works that are up to PG-16, just make sure to add the appropriate trigger warnings
- Applicants must not submit work of any kind that involves generative-AI
CREATIVES GUIDELINES
We are looking for creatives who:
• Are willing to work with a team
> You will most likely be asked to collaborate with other members of the zine on one or more sections of the project.
> You must be open to feedback from mods regarding creative choices from moderators.
• Are flexible in their respective skills
> For writers: willing to/interested in trying different writing styles outside of the standard fanfiction writing. We are looking for a newspaper style zine so do keep that in mind when you consider applying.
Creatives Requirements
• 1-3 examples of creative works corresponding to the work assigned to your preferred role:
Page Artist: full finished artwork (at least one full body &/or background example, not required but highly recommended) must show a wide range of your skill
Spot Artist: smaller artworks like sprite/chibi/items such as food and products
Merch Artist: pocas, stickers, etc
(be aware that your page/spot art could be used in merch and vice versa)
Trad Fanfiction Writer: self explanatory
Fictional Blog Writer: self explanatory
Miscellaneous Writer: (short) fictional articles, epistolary snippets etc
(for Blog and Miscellaneous writers, you can upload at least one example of the following + two examples of your best writing, its not required but it'd be highly recommend if you are interested in that role.)
CONTRIBUTOR GUIDELINES
• All content submitted for the zine must be brand new and created for the zine. We will not be accepting pre-made art.
• AUs, ships, canon divergence and crossovers are a big part of the zine, so submitted works do not have to be canon-compliant.
• The zine will be lighthearted so keep your works PG-13
• Contributors must not submit work of any kind that involves generative-AI.
SPECS
PAGE ART: A5, 300 DPI, CMYK
TRAD FIC: 1.5-2k words
BLOG: 500-700 words
MERCH/MISC: templates will be provided upon acceptance
we plan to accept at least 20 contributors consisting of artists and writers, though the total number of contributors and the distribution of tasks will depend on the results of the interest check and applicationsdepending on their role, some contributors will be assigned to other contributors they'll be collaborating with and given a prompt upon acceptance (merch artists are the only ones excepted from this). they are free to accept the prompt or not. contributors are given two weeks to discuss their prompts with their partners and finish their pitch decks. creatives are then free to move forward with their accepted pitches
There will be monthly check-ins to ensure that creatives complete their works by the end of the creation period.

Q: Do I need any prior zine experience?

A: Zine experience isn’t necessary to contribute to this fanzine.

Q: Is this fanzine strictly for the romantic and/or platonic view of AriKanu's relationship?

A: You are free to depict Arima & Kanuma however you prefer, be it romantic, platonic, individually or with other WBK characters as long as it follows our zine guidelines.
